Fiji

Global Reach Alliance is an aid organisation working with poor and disadvantaged local communities to empower and equip them by providing hope, education, vocational training and relief.
To do this the Preschool Program commenced operations in Fiji in 1994 and works to establish Local Community Development Centres (LCDC) and pre-schools; assisting to reduce poverty and achieve sustainable development by providing quality education for preschool children in the three targeted islands Suva, Savusavu, and Daku. To date there are 7 preschools offering free education to approximately 200 students from the local communities.
The Preschools Program also provides opportunities for annual accredited early childhood teacher training workshops. These workshops are run by proficient and knowledgeable workshop facilitators with the purpose to provide continuing education training for Fijian teachers.
An added focus of the project is implementing programs that improve the living conditions of the local communities. The program offers vocational training in early childhood education, building, construction, farming and horticulture, health care, sanitation and water purification. The project also offers emergency and financial relief, medical and rehabilitation services; all done in order to empower the Fijians in this generation and the next.
