GDG Directors

Global Development Group is governed by the following board of Directors.

David James Pearson

David PearsonAssoc Dip Bus Mgmt, CALU, AAII, MAICD is a founding Director of Global Development Group and is Chairman of the Board. He has served on other Boards in the past. David is a management specialist with a background in risk assessment in the insurance industry where he is still employed. During the past year he completed monitoring visits to four projects in China, and also was part of the audit team visiting the three largest projects, Watoto and Childcare Kitgum in Uganda, and MCF in Kenya.

Geoffrey Winston Armstrong

Geoff ArmstrongBSc, MBA, AFAMI, CMC, MAICD , MASQ is an experienced Director and qualified Consultant. Since 2004 he has been directing the growth of Global Development Group. This year he made audit and monitoring trips to more than 30 projects including Uganda, Kenya, China, Cambodia, India and Indonesia.


 

 Ofelia (Fe) Luscombe

Fe LuscombeBSc, MBA completed a Bachelor of Science degree majoring in accounting and a Masters Degree in Business Administration. Fe is specialising in project management and made auditing and monitoring visits to eight projects this year in the Philippines. Fe participated in three industry events.

 

Allan William Benson

Allan BensonJP has qualifications in Engineering, Occupational Health and Safety and Human Relations. He has worked in the engineering sections of large and complex manufacturing companies. Outside of his professional activities, he has been involved in humanitarian work in Australia. He has been involved in overseas projects and in this past year completed extensive audits in Vietnam and Indonesia.

 

Roy Hooker

Tim Bennett Roy George Hooker is an experienced director and has managed several GDG community development projects in China since 2004. His emphasis has always been to work with very poor marginalised people to build long term capacity by providing clean water, dealing with health issues, enabling education and generating ongoing income. The areas of activity have been in central and southern China. Roy has partnered with a number of NGOs and brings a practical experience of getting things done.

Global Development Group is a member of the Australian Council for International Development (ACFID) and a signatory to the ACFID Code of Conduct, which provides standards on management, communication with the public and, most importantly, how funds are spent.
